I was born in
Detroit and lived in Michigan for the next 4+ decades. What was I thinking?
Although it was a great place to grow up, it's just not conducive to comfortable
year round riding like it is down here in the sunshine state. To ride through
all four seasons back in Michigan we had to be a little creative, so during the
winter months we would install studs in our tires. My "ice bike" was a 1967
Triumph - 650cc Bonneville. Needless to say it was the heaviest bike on the ice,
but I managed to keep it on the dry side. During the other 3 seasons my Suzuki
RM 250 would suffice. I didn't start riding on the road until we moved south.
When we moved to Florida in the spring of ’06 we still had no immediate plans of
getting into the Harley lifestyle but I had always wanted one. So as we explored
our new community, we always seemed to end up driving past Gulf Coast Harley
Davidson. So now here we are, the proud owners of 2 Harley's, and we are having
such a good time. I never imagined that I would be riding so much, and it's
still fun every time I do it. Also we have made a lot of new friends, and
belonging to the local New Port Richey, FL. HOG chapter has helped us accomplish
this. What could be
better?
LIVE IT UP!
