Road Captain

Mike Mulligan

I don't know when or why but I've always had a fascination with the motorbike. Anything that

could get me going faster than my own two legs was always greeted with a smile. My first "Ride"

was on a friends scooter in 1969. I took it around the block a few times and knew I had to have

something bigger and faster !!!

My first motorcycle was a 1972 750cc  Honda. It was fast and it was fun. I kept that for 3 years

and then sold it. My next motorcycle was a 1975 750cc Honda Super Sport. That was the first

year that Honda had a 4 into 1 exhaust. I kept that for 3 years and sold it also.

In 1982 I had a career change, from teaching/coaching to engineering, and was finally able to afford

my first Harley-Davidson, an XL1000 Iron Head Sportster. It has been H-D ever since. One Dresser

and 4 Road Kings later, I am still loving the experience. Like others, I've gone many miles and met

many people but the friendliest people are riding Harley-Davidson.
