Sergeant at Arms
Robert Gateley
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. January of 1959. Moved around with
my parents to Michigan, Massachusetts (just outside of Boston), then back to
Pennsylvania. It was there that I survived my teen years doing the dirt bike
thing on some trails around our neighborhood.
Joined the Army in 1976 as a field medic and stayed in until 1985. I
had the pleasure of serving briefly in New Jersey and Texas. Then on to
Colorado. Followed by a tour in South Korea. Stateside again in Louisiana. Back
to South Korea again and finally, ended up in Kansas just before leaving the
service. (Would have stayed as a career; but had to leave due to family issues).
I was able to get a couple more years of ride time in while in
Louisiana, but a return to Korea ended that run.
Moved to Florida around 1987. Did some construction work. Got licensed
as a Plumber and now currently work for Pasco County Building Department.
I've been married twice. Currently NOT. So, was able to buy my first
Harley about 18 months ago. A Sportster 1200C. A fun little bike that I've been
able to put some 10,000 miles on so far. To be honest though, I'm looking
forward to moving up to something with a little more comfort sometime in the
near future. I love the ride and can't believe I let that much time pass before
getting back on a bike. Won't let that happen again!
